A delegation of human rights organizations visited Milagro Sala and found her "happy and cheerful"

A delegation of human rights organizations visited the social leader Milagro Sala this Thursday in the city of La Plata, where she was seen "happy, cheerful and hopeful" while undergoing outpatient treatment after having undergone surgery at the Italian Hospital in the capital. Buenos Aires "Milagro's life has changed, she is so happy, so joyful and hopeful too," the member of Madres de Plaza de Mayo Línea Founder Taty Almeida confided in dialogue with Télam. The delegation that visited Milagro Sala was made up of María Elena Naddeo and Eduardo Tavani, from the Permanent Assembly for Human Rights (APDH); Adolfo Mango and Cecilia de Vincenti of the 12 of the Holy Cross; Elsa Oshiro of the Ecumenical Movement for Human Rights (MEDH); and Almeida representing the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, among others. The human rights representatives traveled to the city of La Plata to visit Sala in a rented home where he is undergoing outpatient treatment for the deep vein thrombosis he suffers from. Regarding the meeting this Thursday afternoon, Almeida stated that it was "very warm, beautiful and militant" and highlighted that they talked about "the current situation and the hope that we all have", in reference to Sunday's electoral result that placed the official candidate Sergio Massa almost seven points above the libertarian Javier Milei. Regarding Salas, she stressed that she is "very hopeful" that "this government will give her her freedom" and pointed out that it is "a pending issue that this democracy has" with the leader of Tupac Amaru. "It cannot be that there are still political prisoners like Milagro Sala," he reproached. Regarding Sala's health care, Almeida said that "she is extremely well cared for" and commented that "she is in a wheelchair, she has to walk, the kinesiologist comes every day." He noted that Sala is "delighted with the Italian Hospital of La Plata and its doctors and nurses."
