A sea lion that was found on garbage remains and far from the coast in Coronel Rosales was relocated within the framework of an operation carried out by the commune together with the Foundation for the Reception and Assistance of Marine Animals (Fraam). As part of the preventive measures against avian flu, deployed during the operation, the specialists verified that the animal was in perfect health, so it was transferred to another coastal sector. "This is a single-haired male sea lion of the Otaria Flavescens species that was fine, with no other symptoms other than the process of changing its fur," the Foundation indicated. Likewise, they explained that due to a call from a neighbor, he was found more than four kilometers from the coast and on an area where there were remains of garbage and broken glass, which gave rise to the "operation to rescue him and transfer him to another safe area." . With the contribution of personnel from the Coronel Rosales commune along with a biologist, a veterinarian and an environmental technician, the specimen was captured and then transferred to another coastal sector where it was released, they reported.
